Recreation and Athletics


Don't sweat it in the classroom—beat your stress with recreation and athletics! SIAST offers you great ways to get moving at any of our four campus locations through either athletic clubs, intramurals or recreational activities.

SIAST Kelsey Campus (Saskatoon)
Recreational activities include:

  • aquatics
  • body-blast classes
  • indoor cycling
  • learn to run
  • pilates
  • yoga

Intramurals leagues and clubs include:

  • badminton (co-ed, singles and doubles)
  • basketball
  • curling
  • dodgeball
  • floor hockey
  • ice hockey
  • indoor soccer
  • kayak
  • scuba
  • slowpitch
  • volleyball
  • ultimate frisbee
  • ultimate pong (singles and doubles)

Athletics include:

  • Amaruk Volleyball teams (men's and women's). The Amaruks complete provincially in the Prairie Athletic Conference (PAC) League and interprovincially in the Western Canadian College Open Volleyball Championships.

SIAST Palliser Campus (Moose Jaw)

Fight off exercise boredom and join an intramurals team, take part in a challenging aerobics class or increase your overall fitness by using our strength and cardio equipment.

  • intramurals and recreation leagues - students and staff are welcome to participate; intramurals are fun and social in nature while the recreation leagues offer more competition
  • fitness centre - memberships are open to students and staff and may be purchased at the Tuck Shop
  • equipment - a variety of recreation equipment is available to you (free of charge) on a checkout basis

SIAST Wascana Campus (Regina)

Exercising helps you fight the negative affects of stress. Take part in one of our wellness workshops or sweat away your mental congestion in an intramurals game, fitness class or by using our fitness equipment.

  • intramurals - many recreational activities regularly scheduled throughout the year
  • open Monday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 3:00 p.m.

You may access recreation services in the campus fitness centre for a small per-semester fee.

SIAST Woodland Campus (Prince Albert)
Recreational activities include:

  • monthly Wellness Wednesday sessions
  • fitness classes and personal training|
  • cardio and weight rooms
  • intramurals
  • rock wall

Intramural leagues include:

  • co-ed slowpitch
  • co-ed badminton
  • badminton (singles and doubles)
  • basketball
  • bowling
  • floor hockey
  • indoor soccer
  • kickball
  • dodgeball (men's and women's)

Athletics include:

  • the Wild Volleyball teams (men's and women's). The Wild compete provincially in the Prairie Athletic Conference (PAC) League and interprovincially in the Western Canadian College Open Volleyball Championships.
