GETT Camps (Grades 7 and 8)
Girls Exploring Trades and Technology (GETT) camps introduce girls in grades 7 and 8 to a variety of possible career futures while attending an enjoyable week-long day camp.

PicoCricket Workshop
This great new workshop gives girls the opportunity to combine creativity and artistry with a neat piece of technology to create unique inventions that can respond to movement, changes in light or sound with movement, lights and sounds of their own.  An excellent chance for girls to see that computer technologies can be creative and fun!

WIT Exploratory Course - Women in Trades (Adults)
Both Kelsey Campus (Saskatoon) and Wascana Campus (Regina) offer this hands-on course to introduce women to a variety of basic trade skills. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued a statement of attendance.

SKILLS WORK!  A Conference for Young Women (Grades 9 to 12)
The conference is an exciting event that helps grade 9 to 12 girls from around Saskatchewan investigate careers in skilled trades.  It is held annually in conjunction with the Skills Canada Saskatchewan competition, which is an event that highlights skilled trades through a series of competitions for secondary and post-secondary competitors.

SKILLS WORK!  A Conference for Young Women (Grades 9 and 10)
SIAST, the Saskatoon and Region Homebuilders' Association, SaskWITT and Skills Canada Saskatchewan host an annual conference for grades 9 and 10 girls from across Saskatchewan to showcase trades careers.

IMGETT Activities (Grades 7 and 8)
Indian and Metis GETT is a fun five-day camp for Aboriginal girls who are guided by women of Aboriginal ancestry who work or train in industrial or technical occupations. Providing a culturally familiar and nurturing environment for girls of similar backgrounds maximizes the comfort level for participants and the efficiency of the learning environment is increased.

  • girls design and construct scooters, take part in games (such as relay races using shop tools and equipment) and gain hands-on experience from field trips to industrial workplaces

  • classroom activities include cultural and historical references to tool development and symbol exercises

Kids in the Shop (KITS) (Grades 8 and 9)
KITS is an exciting one-day interactive workshop that introduces girls and boys in grade 8 and 9 to a variety of career options.  They will explore some of the skilled trades and technologies by completing a metal-work/scooter project.

GETT Alumnae Workshops (Grades 9 to 12)
The GETT alumnae workshops consist of four workshops, one for each of grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.  Each one-day workshop includes aspects of role modelling, career exploration and technical skills development consistent with the elements that underpin the GETT philosophy.
